I hope everyone had a happy, critter free, holiday!

    11/10/09

It seems our flat tailed friends are getting ready for a few months under the ice. We have been getting a number of calls about beaver damage in the last week.

    11/2/09

Though many of my customers probably could care less if the bats all died they do provide a very important role in the ecosystem of Iowa. White nose syndrome is causing problems in the northeast and looks to be spreading. Hopefully we can avoid it here!

It'sNational Mole Day!!!  Ok, so not the same kinda mole we deal w/ but pretty interesting.

    10/21/09

We seem to be seeing a lot of mole and mouse exclusion work. Don't let these little warm ups fool you. The animals know its coming and they're headed inside!

    Des Moines Raccoon Control

        Here comes winter!

Its that time of year when all the furry creatures start seeking out a safe place for the coming cold season.  It's a good time to do an inspection on the house and make sure that everything is sealed up. Don't leave anything open. Seal all 1/4" gaps or larger w/ either foam or silicone. If major repairs are needed then get them done now. If you see signs of animal activity please give us a call and let us help you have pest free winter!

        Febuary Warm-up.

We have seen a little hint of what spring will bring with the latest warm spell. Some of our furry friends take this as a sign to get started with their breeding season. Male raccoons are making the rounds and so are skunks. Pay attention to any openings that may have appeared around your house due to some of the nasty winter weather we had this year. It won't be long before many soon to be mothers will be looking for a place to have their young.

On a side note. Not sure if we have a trap big enough for this little guy.

    5/1/09

Baby raccoons have started showing up. When mother raccoon leaves to go find more food they respond much like a human baby left alone and hungry and start crying. If you find yourself hearing raccoons chattering and you decide to remove them yourself make sure that if you have a raccoon thats nursing you get the young ones too.

    5/14/09

Our little masked friends continue to drop their young aswell as just about every other creature crawling around in the Des Moines area. Please dont disturb any young animals you find. They may appear orphaned but in most cases mom is not far off and will be back soon to take care of them. If there are any problems please contact us and we'll help you out.

Moles are taking off pretty hard this season too. These little guys can sure tear up a lawn in no time. Don't let all your time and effort you put into that beautiful lawn go to waste. Call us at the first sign of moles and we'll take care of them before they get out of hand.

    8/27/09

Bats are no going crazy, or so it seems. The little ones are learning how to fly and leaving the roost sites. Unfortunately they sometimes don't go to the same entrance that the mother uses and instead end up in our homes.
